House extensions, garden rooms, new build houses.
Charles has carried out numerous extensions and additions for many people. These works have included an access ramps for wheelchair use, kitchen extensions, ‘knock through’ projects to form living room/kitchens and living room/dining room spaces and virtually doubling the size of an original house.
As a Project Architect for a large firm Charles has recently been involved in the design of an apartment building in Croydon for 42 apartments which requires a full understanding of the London Housing Design Guide.
Charles has also recently gained outline planning permission for a development of 140 properties on brownfield land in Derby.
Prior to that he designed and gained full planning permission for a development of 16 houses in the village of Bolton on Dearne to meet Code 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Charles has been active in the RIBA/Shelter ‘Architect in the House’ initiative and has raised hundreds of pounds for Shelter in meeting people in their homes to discuss in general how they might explore opportunities with an Architect to ‘do something’ with their house to make a better living space with no sense of commitment to actually ‘do’ anything.
