Charles’s has been involved in retail developments of various sizes for over 15 years.
The Clay Cross development delivered eight retail units of approximately 1000 sq ft with rear servicing, bin store and dedicated space for chiller units as well as a pharmacy of approximately 1500 sq ft.
Charles was Project Architect for Marshalls Yard at Gainsborough from concept to opening to the public. This scheme won the British Council for Shopping Centres Gold Award in 2007 and transformed the small market town of Gainsborough into a retail destination. This scheme delivered 32 shop units of various sizes, restaurant, café, health spa with swimming pool and high quality office space all around a landscaped plaza and car park.
Charles has been a BREEAM Assessor for retail schemes since 2008 and has assessed schemes for M&S, Asda, B&Q and Morrisons.
